Post Prep

Apostolos will teach you how to develop your idea for your social post and how to set up your After Effects template.

Animating Typography

You're going to be animating right along with Apostolos! You'll design your post in After Effects, learn how to import designs from Illustrator and Photoshop, and get two slides animated in 15 minutes- all while learning how to use the right tools and some psychological tricks to attract attention.

Converting Animations for Different Platforms

Think you need to start all over to create your post for different social platforms? Think again! You'll convert the same post for various platforms like Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, Youtube, and LinkedIn, lickety-split!

Approximately 3.5 hours. Digital video conference hosted on Zoom, online only. Recording will be available for a limited time.

Live Attendance:

We recommend attending the workshop live, but you are not required to do so. You will have access to each video recording of the workshop for 14 days.

How To Prepare:

• It is recommended that you have working knowledge of Adobe After Effects or have taken Apostolos' course, Animation for Designers. The workshop will not be going over the animation basics.
• Have an idea for a social media post ready. It can be a written idea, visual project, portfolio project.
• Make sure you have Adobe After Effects installed on your computer.
• Have water on hand: it's important to stay hydrated!
• If you'd like the instructor to be able to see you, make sure your webcam and microphone are in good working order.

Questions & Answers

What software do you use to animate?

For this workshop, we need to use only After Effects (any version). If you feel comfortable designing in Illustrator and Photoshop, we're going to teach you how to import these designs correctly.

Do I have to own a powerful, expensive computer?

No, for this workshop I will use a basic laptop.

Do I have to be an After Effects expert?

No, but you need to be comfortable with the interface. The methods we're going to teach are really simple.

Do I have to pay for extra tools or resources?

During the workshop we will present both solutions for every case—premium and free.

How much time do I have to spend after this workshop to feel comfortable creating this kind of content?

You should give it a couple of tries to understand the way it works. An average estimation could be around a week of daily use.
